Well, hiking season has officially started. I mean, I've been on a few hikes lately but yesterday was the first real big hike of the season.
It was originally planned as a fishing trip with Dad and that's how it started. We drove to Framboise and stopped at all the little brooks along the way. The fish weren't biting much but when we finally reached our limit of five, we found a nice place with a view of the ocean to enjoy our lunch.
After lunch and tea, we walked along Ferguson Beach until we came to the river and than went to Grand River Beach where we did the same. It was warm and mostly sunny so the weather certainly cooperated. The fresh air was just what I needed after suffering with yet another cold. Clear lungs and a full day in the fresh air of Framboise was just what I needed for a much needed sleep. After our hikes, we drove to St. Peter's, grabbed a coffee and went home the back way through Forchu and Gabarus hoping to see a deer. Instead we saw two bald eagles and a few hawks.I already have so many grand plans for summer. This is just the first of many adventures to come!
